This past Sunday, we attended the NYS Cyclocross Championships in Delmar, N.Y. At the time of Wyatt's race, it was still quite cold with frost on the ground. (Warning: early morning frost + rising temperatures + cyclocross = lots and lots of mud.) But that didn't deter this group of fine, young racers from lining up at the start.

Wait, we're missing one...
Found him, hiding on the other side of the group. Do you think he wishes that he was back in bed?
Before the race...

Time to hop the barriers.

Now, a blurry head shot. (Hey, at least I got him.)

30 minutes later, the finish.

Since there are no water cages on the bikes, the first thing the boys usually ask for is water.
Water!

Of course this little guy was just glad to be done. (Notice the mud on his bike.)
Recouping after

I'm jumping ahead here but take a look at this shoe. It became the fashion trend for the racers and their bikes as the day progressed.

And all that mud, it's mixed in with goose poop. But that's a story for another day.

Just two more pictures and we'll be done.

Here's Wyatt on the podium.

And a final look at the remaining Cub Juniors - the future of cycling and cyclocross.
