Daddy's Girl

We've been very busy here in the great Northeast. Our first major snowstorm of the year arrived yesterday afternoon and the kids went out to play in it's remains this morning. I donned my coat and hat (which arrived just in time - thank you Aunt N!) to catch this very special moment so that I could share it with you all.

Wait - here is today's Eowyn picture. She was having a blast on her Daddy's shoulders - hence the title of today's post which will have nothing to do with her after you see this picture.

Now, back to the snow.

Wyatt and Dagny like to make forts in the snowbanks. They last until the next snowfall when the plow pushes them in.

Of course, Levi had to try it out, too.

Wyatt then moved on to the other side of the driveway to make another fort. Levi decided to help.

Unfortuntely for Levi, Wyatt was unaware of this.

Poor kid. This kind of thing happens to him all of the time. You would think that he'd be used to it by now.

Then Liam decided to help Wyatt.

But this didn't work and the fort collapsed. Dagny and Liam moved on down the yard to start a trench for a big snow battle that Wyatt is planning...

...leaving Wyatt to 'move' the snow down to them - a task to which he eagerly applied himself.

If only he would do his chores with such fervor!

I, in the meantime, decided to scoot across the road and check out the creek. I took some photos. Here is my favorite:

After a bit, Dagny joined me to eat some snow as it always tastes better on the other side of the road (you know - just like the grass is always greener...)

It seems that the snow is finally here to stay. Hurrah!
